Salesforce Service Cloud Voice vs Unicall

For CX teams already on Salesforce that need voice resolved autonomously, not just assisted.

Salesforce renamed Service Cloud Voice to Salesforce Voice, and Agentforce Voice — announced in October 2025 and now generally available — added a native voice AI agent on top of it. So this is no longer "CRM with agent assist versus voice AI". It's a question of centre of gravity: voice as one governed channel inside your CRM, or voice as the product, operated for you. Here's the honest side-by-side.

The buying decision

Which operating model fits your team?

Choose Salesforce Service Cloud Voice if…

  • Salesforce is already your system of record and you want voice governed inside it
  • You want voice, digital channels, CRM data and AI agents in one platform with a large partner ecosystem
  • You have the admins, or an SI partner, to configure and run the contact centre

Choose Unicall if…

  • The phone is a major, high-value channel and you want it handled natively — not as an add-on
  • You'd rather buy a working AI Voice Agent than staff and run another platform
  • You want Customer 360, Priority Queue and human handoff connected to every call

The Salesforce Service Cloud Voice vs Unicall buyer scorecard

Ten criteria that determine whether you are buying software to run — or an operating outcome. Competitor facts come from public sources.

Salesforce Service Cloud Voice versus Unicall across ten buyer criteria
Criterion Salesforce Service Cloud Voice Unicall Voice-first
Primary operating model A channel inside the CRM — Salesforce Voice (formerly Service Cloud Voice) sits on Service Cloud, now branded Agentforce Service; it is a platform layer, not a managed service AI Voice Agent + customer-care platform, delivered and operated for you
Voice capability & telephony architecture Salesforce is not the carrier: voice runs on Amazon Connect or partner telephony, and Agentforce Voice is the AI layer on top of that connection Voice-first by origin — built for live phone (barge-in, latency, identity verification), extended to text
E-commerce & Shopify depth Generalist CRM — commerce is served through Commerce Cloud or integrations rather than an e-commerce-specific voice product Deep Shopify integration (order status, identity verification, self-service) — and works with Zendesk, Salesforce, Avaya, your CRM/ERP
Live-data actions Acts across Salesforce data and connected systems, with the CRM as the system of record Answers and resolves on live order & account data, end-to-end
Customer context & priority A best-in-class unified customer profile — this is Salesforce's genuine structural strength, and we won't pretend otherwise Customer 360 (CLV, history, sentiment) + Priority Queue scored 0–100, never FIFO
Human handoff Escalation and routing inside Service Cloud, with full CRM context in the agent console Warm escalation to your team with full context attached
Implementation model Customer- and partner-led. Salesforce publishes no implementation timeline and points to "expert help" and a partner planning checklist, so integration work is typically bought separately from a systems integrator — professional-services time on top of the licence line. Partner estimates commonly range from a few weeks for a basic setup to several months with custom routing and AI Done-for-you — our team implements on your real workflows, live in 4–6 weeks, with no third-party integrator to budget for
Ongoing optimization & accountability Your admins and operations team, optionally with an SI partner on retainer — there is no vendor-run tuning of your agents, so ongoing optimisation is internal headcount or billable consulting days We operate, tune and report ROI monthly against the metrics we agreed on — included in the monthly fee, not billed as consulting days
Security & governance Salesforce publishes ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification and SOC 2 reports; HIPAA, PCI DSS and FedRAMP coverage varies by product, edition and infrastructure Encrypted in transit and at rest, your data never trains our models; answers only from your approved knowledge base, with guardrails and human escalation on low confidence
Pricing model Published per user, per month on an annual subscription: $50 with your own partner telephony, or $75 / $125 / $200 with Amazon Connect bundling 750 / 2,000 / 5,000 voice minutes. Agentforce Contact Center is $125 with unlimited platform voice minutes. Salesforce directs buyers to a sales representative for current pricing Ticket-volume-based — from $1,000/mo, grows with your results, not with headcount; implementation quoted up front after your audit

Voice heritage

What changes when voice is the starting point?

Salesforce Service Cloud Voice

Salesforce announced Service Cloud Voice in November 2019, naming Amazon Connect its preferred contact centre technology, and shipped it in 2020. Voice arrived as a channel added to the world's leading CRM — and Salesforce has moved fast since: Einstein brought real-time transcription, next best action and call summaries for human agents, then Agentforce Voice, announced in October 2025 and now generally available, added a native voice AI agent, with Agentforce Contact Center reaching general availability in the US in early 2026. It would be out of date to call this "agent assist only". The honest distinction is where each product starts: Salesforce starts from the customer record and adds voice; Unicall starts from the phone call and integrates the record — including into Salesforce itself.

Unicall

Voice was our first channel, not our latest. A live phone call is a different engineering problem — barge-in, latency, emotion, identity verification — so we built for voice first and extended to text, not the reverse.

Ask every vendor:

  • What share of our calls will actually resolve with no human — and how is that measured?
  • What is the 12-month total cost — licences, telephony usage, AI consumption, integrator fees and ongoing tuning — not just the per-user price?
  • We are already on Salesforce — what does adding voice AI really take, in weeks and in budget?

The Unicall operating model

An AI voice product, with a team accountable for the outcome

However you get started with Salesforce Service Cloud Voice — Salesforce documentation, Trailhead and a large partner ecosystem, with implementation typically led by your admins or an SI — Unicall's model is different by design: one human team owns the AI Voice Agent rollout from discovery through go-live, connects Customer 360 and Priority Queue to your real workflows, and keeps supervising the system against the metrics we agreed on. You're buying an operating outcome, not another tool to staff.

AI Voice Agent, configured for your flows

We map your real call flows, knowledge and actions — then test the agent before it reaches customers.

Customer 360 and human handoff

Every call carries identity, history and intent forward, so a human can take over without making the customer start again.

Priority Queue and monthly ROI

VIP, at-risk and urgent callers are prioritized, while our team tunes the system and reports against agreed KPIs.

Where Salesforce Service Cloud Voice is the better fit

  • Organisations standardised on Salesforce that treat voice as one channel among many
  • Teams that value CRM depth and ecosystem breadth over voice specialisation
  • Companies with in-house Salesforce capacity or an established SI relationship

Where Unicall becomes the better operating choice

  • E-commerce and customer-care teams where phone volume is significant and rising
  • Teams that want AI Voice Agent workflows implemented and operated for them — live in 4–6 weeks
  • Ops leaders who want Customer 360, Priority Queue and ROI KPIs moved — and reported monthly
A scenario to picture

"Where is my order?" at an international retailer

A customer calls to check an order. Inside Salesforce Voice, the call arrives through Amazon Connect or your partner telephony, Einstein transcribes in real time, and your agent answers with the customer profile and order history in the console; with Agentforce Voice enabled, the AI agent can handle the call itself. With Unicall, the agent identifies intent, verifies the caller, pulls live order status from Shopify or your ERP, answers in seconds and sends an SMS confirmation — and the ticket still lands in Salesforce. Same record, different centre of gravity: we own the call and the outcome, and write back to your CRM. On cost: Salesforce publishes Voice at $50 per user per month with your own telephony, or $75 to $200 with Amazon Connect minutes bundled in, on an annual subscription — on top of the Service Cloud licences you already pay for, with usage beyond the bundled minutes and AI consumption accounted for separately. Unicall is billed on ticket volume from $1,000/month, not per seat, so the bill does not grow every time you add an agent. And the licence line is not the project: Salesforce points buyers to partners for implementation, so integrator time is contracted separately — where our implementation is a fixed quote after the audit and the running of the agents is inside the monthly fee.
